Position Summary
The Graduate Program Director is responsible for coordinating the administrative functions of the graduate programs in Psychology (Master’s and Psy.D.) according to Stevenson University and School of Humanities and Social Sciences policies and procedures. As the founding Program Director, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the program launch and initial application for APA accreditation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, curriculum development; recruiting; assessing program quality and effectiveness, including APA accreditation; hiring and training adjunct faculty; scheduling classes; preparing and managing the program budget, and mentoring, monitoring and evaluating performance of personnel. The Graduate Program Director holds a faculty appointment in the Psychology Department and fulfills all responsibilities of a full-time faculty member, as defined in the Stevenson University Policy Manual and in the Full-Time Faculty Job Description approved by the faculty of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. As this position carries both faculty and administrative responsibilities, the Program Director receives course release time during the academic year and a 12-month appointment.

Education/Experience
Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in an area of health services Psychology, as defined by the American Psychological Association, plus five years college teaching experience in Psychology or a related field. Administrative experience and experience developing and overseeing clinical training programs desired.

Demonstrated ability to create and implement graduate programs in Psychology that align with the mission and vision of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and of Stevenson University.

Commitment to advising, mentoring, and preparing masters’ and doctoral level students in Psychology.

Professional commitment to leadership, with a distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proven collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills needed to build relationships with faculty, Department Chairs, Deans, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.

Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing curricula at the course and/or program level.

Commitment to integrity, excellence, learning, and community.

Commitment to professional development.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required. Database management and other computer skills are valued.

Ability to work with and advocate for concerns of students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds.

Experience implementing effective educational assessment practices.

Ability to travel between campuses.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Position requires the ability to speak clearly and effectively, while sitting or standing for an extended period of time. Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Position requires additional hours for meetings and events, including days, evenings, and weekends.
