Position Summary and Responsibilities This position will report to the Vice President of Communications and will work with the Vice President and Associate Vice President on long-term vison and strategy for the Communications Department. As such, this position will be a part of the core team responsible for the management of communication of Vassar College's key messages across all content channels. Additionally, this position works closely with the agency hired to work on identity communications. This includes assisting the facilitation of the agency's research and socialization of work product.

The ideal candidate will have experience being part of a communications team for a company or organization, with responsibilities inclusive of social media strategy, events, press announcements, SEO and overall branding. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Help guide the department's new social media team. This includes working with the team to establish Vassar's external profile while continuing to increase followership and engagement
Overseeing the execution of relevant content in coordination with the Communications Department's editorial calendar
Managing media and influencer partnerships to help enhance Vassar's reputation
Review monthly analytic metrics across all digital channels and outlets and recommending changes
Focus on integration of increased video content into Vassar's social media profile
Work with the Vice President of Communications on other important initiatives
Qualifications Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in related field
5 to 10 years experience in brand communications
Specific experience in disciplines of social media strategy, media relations, project management, marketing strategy, brand development, event planning and management
Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Meltwater and Hootsuite.
Proficiency in other various project management programs and all social media platforms
May require some travel
