Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Education Affairs, the Lead, Academic Operations provides leadership, guidance, and expertise in the education mission areas of compliance, planning, policies, assessment, and accreditation-related operations in the Office of Education Affairs (OEA), including the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Career Development Center, Student Success Center, Wellness Coordination and Intervention, and Student and House Staff Mental Health Services.

Job Duties

  • Ensures that OEA offices, programs, and responsibilities are in compliance with best practices in educational support services, local, state, and federal-level statutes and regulations, and accreditation requirements and standards. 
  • Ensures the development and implementation of OEA strategic planning and the management of associated processes.
  • Initiates, designs, implements, and provides project management for continuous quality improvement initiatives and assessment of educational support programming and services for OEA units.
  • Leads and supports the annual program review process for OEA units.
  • Leads the development, review, and dissemination of the yearly College catalog(s), student handbook(s), and related publications.
  • Leads developing, reviewing, updating, and disseminating education mission-related policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership, support, and expert advice on OEA compliance and reporting efforts related to the Student Appeals and Grievances process.
  • Provides leadership, support, and expert advice on college compliance efforts concerning the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLBA).
  • Provides leadership, support, and expert advice on college compliance efforts concerning Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
  • Provides leadership, support, and expert advice on college compliance efforts concerning National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).
  • Provides leadership and OEA representation on matters of risk assessment related to the education mission, including assisting with the annual risk assessment, reviewing potential risks, supporting remediation activities, and reporting.
  • Provides leadership and OEA representation on campus-wide compliance committees and workgroups.
  • Performs other job duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • Master's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with federal higher education regulatory requirements and academic and student support program operations.
