Position Title Assistant Director, Financial Aid
Position Description
Provide financial aid services to students and families, including packaging, counseling, problem resolution, and financial planning. Administer financial aid programs, assist with program implementation, and manage an assigned case load. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of federal and state regulatory changes and student assistance policy/delivery in assigned areas of responsibility. Assist the Director in development of university policies and procedures, and in ensuring regulatory compliance in all areas. Assist with escalated complaints and address client issues. Coordinate review and turnaround of appeals for additional financial aid resources as a key recruitment and retention strategy.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of effective financial aid or related management experience.
  • Interpersonal, communication, planning and motivational skills are a must.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, NCAA and institutional policies, procedures and resources.
  • Must be capable of providing leadership to staff.
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Experience with Ellucian Banner Student System.
