Responsibilities:
Supports the development of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences through teaching, research/scholarship, and service activities/mentoring.

Job Description:

Teaching

  • Active classroom, laboratory, and community teaching within the interprofessional DPT & OTD programs
  • Participate in the DPT curriculum design, delivery, and accreditation process.
  •  Advise and mentor students.
  • Support and promote a collaborative and positive learning environment for students.
  • Deliver instruction using innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Support activities of the clinical education program

Research/Scholarship:

  •  Define and maintain a scholarly agenda.
  • Maintain a consistent record of  publications and presentations through engaging in local, regional,  national and/or international opportunities.
  • Mentor DPT students in research and/or scholarly activities

Service:

  • Contribute to University, College, Department, and Program committees.
  • Membership and leadership in professional or community associations
  • Contribute to the advancement of the profession of physical therapy through program development, continuing education, clinical service, or clinical education activities.
  • Mentor DPT students in community and professional activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Physical Therapist with an academic terminal degree (PhD, DSc, EdD, ScD or currently enrolled and will complete doctoral degree by December 2025).
  • The candidate must be licensed in Oklahoma or meet all eligibility requirements for Oklahoma licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with entry-level professional DPT student teaching in an academic setting
  • Three years of recent clinical experience with a broad range of populations
  • Evidence of research/scholarly contributions to the physical therapy profession (i.e., presentations, publications, continuing education instruction).
  • Experience as a clinical instructor and willing to serve in clinical education activities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
