Description:Per course adjunct faculty for the Special Education program's course, SPED 493-01/593-01.

Qualifications:
SPED 493-01/593-01 - Educational & Assistive Technology for Mild/Moderate Disabilities

Wednesdays 5:00PM - 8:15PM 1 Unit

This course provides opportunities for candidates to acquire the ability to use computer-based technology to facilitate the teaching and learning process. Each candidate demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the appropriate use of computer-based technology for information collection, analysis and management in the instructional setting. Candidates demonstrate knowledge of assistive technology including low and high equipment and materials to facilitate communication, curriculum access, and skill development of students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Special Education or related field

  • 5 years experience as a mild/moderate education specialist or related position in K-12 settings

  • Experience with the use of computer-based technology for information collection, analysis and management in the instructional setting

  • Knowledge of assistive technology including low and high equipment and materials to facilitate communication, curriculum access, and skill development of students with disabilities

  • Familiarity with the array of formal and informal assessment instruments and techniques used in K-12 settings
