This role provides comprehensive health care, education and customer service primarily to the student population. The role provides team based support to providers, and improves efficiency and productivity to the medical clinic. This position assists the provider (Physician/APN) to aid in clinic flow, productivity and continuity of care to patients.

The Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.

Medical Assistance:
Interview patient for primary complaint, acquire appropriate vital signs and document pertinent medical history in the Electronic Medical Record during the patient intake process, including historical data collection of previous allergies, updating patient’s medication list, significant medical history, patient's family medical history and learning barriers.
Be responsible for charging and charting for all procedures, treatments and medications given.
Implement provider's plan of treatment for patients of all ages, primarily late adolescent and early adulthood population.
Assist in direct patient care procedures, give prescribed medications and immunizations.
Assist the RN and Provider staff in code situations as delegated by an RN or provider.
Stock the exam rooms and be responsible for infection prevention and cleaning of rooms between patients.
Point of Care:
Perform POC tests on patients on a regular basis, detailing tests in the EMR to reflect accurate charting and charging.
Competency tests will be done once a year to stay in compliance with CLIA regulations.
EMR documentation:
Document and charge all procedures, POC, medications, and treatments given in the EMR.
To keep in compliance with AAAHC, there will be periodic audits of the medical assistant charts two times per year.

This is a full-time, in-person position with the following work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. No on call hours will be required.

$20.50 per hour for certified MA's and $20.00 per hour for non-certified MA's (applicants with CU System experience may qualify for additional pay).
